UNDERSTANDING ULTRA VIOLET SYSTEM
1. The UV spectrum is commonly divided into UVA, UVB and UVC. The entire UV spectrum can not kill or inactivate micro organisms but UVC spectrum has the best germicidal properties peaking at 265nm. UV light in your hvac system are furthermore optimized to produce maximum UVC in the temperature range of 10-50 C
2. The germicidal UV destroys the DNA of microorganisms. Hence killing them and stopping their replication. Thus UVGI kills and inactivates all types of microbes, whether airborne or on a surface
The Problem:
1. Changing Environment: Because of the increase in pollutants air composition has changed.
2. Health Hazard: Humans exposed to harmful viruses/Pollutants can be fatal.
3. Higher Energy Consumption: Due to microbial growth on coils, efficiency goes down thereby drawing more current than needed
4. Higher Maintenance: Frequent scaling leads to reduced compressor life which eventually leads to higher repair cost.
5. Industrial Impact: Productivity of an employee goes down therby affecting the entire Industry
Why UV light in Hvac System?
With the outbreak and spread of diseases caused to human beings by airborne micro-organisms such as bacteria and virus like COVID-19 especially in indoor air-conditioned spaces. The importance of Indoor Air Quality for human health and well-being cannot be overlooked. It has been proved beyond doubt worldwide, that UV light in Hvac System is an extremely effective way to improve and maintain indoor air quality. Realizing this, the United States General Services Administration requires that UVC be included in cooling coils of air-handling units for all federal facilities . As to maintain coil cleanliness and improve air quality.
The solution
1. Watmizer: A bank of UV lamps, mounted on a self-supporting frame work. UV radiation is beamed on cooling coil in an AHU for that reason fitted inside the AHU between the cooling coil and blower
2. Duct Zapper: A set of UV lamps mounted on a rectangular frame made of stainless steel or aluminium because it is suitable for installation inside an air Duct.
3. Aeropro: A wall mounted unit equipped with a UV lamp and a blower which takes air from a room, passes it over the UV lamp and finally releasing it back in the room.
BENEFITS Of UV light in Hvac System
1. ENERGY:
- Saves 10-15% HVAC Energy in existing AHUs.
2. IAQ:
- A 60% to 99% Reduction in Microbe Content in Air.
- Odour Elimination.
- Reduction in Allergy, Asthma Symptoms.
- Protection from Pandemics.
- Reduced Absenteeism.
3. MAINTENANCE:
- UVGI minimizes Cooling Coil Maintenance.
- Returns and Maintains Cooling Coil in ‘As New’ Condition.
- No Downtime of HVAC units for Coil Cleaning.
- Saving of Chemicals, Water and Efforts for Coil Cleaning.
- Reduces Compressor Usage, Prolongs its Life.
- Increases Life and Efficacy of HEPA filters.
WHY AVA AIRCON:
- Most Conventional UV Installers in HVAC systems rely on thumb rules and estimates. In order to calculate the number of UV lamps and module. AVA Aircon follows the guidelines set by OEM.
- The design is based on actual field data and conditions and no guesswork will be taking place.
- Installation of UV system is done in a technically sound manner.
About Us: At AVA Aircon, we believe in making the HVAC & R Industry an eco-friendly and a safe field as well as reducing the client’s burden by reducing their running cost through implementing several cost saving method:-
Improve IAQ for commercial spaces to improve efficiency of workforce by retrofitting UVC systems in AHU
How do we do it?
- We check your coil width, thickness and height.
- Checking the air flow.
- Preferred location is seen (Upstream/downstream)
- Distance available between coil and UVC System.
This is my first time go to see at here and i am truly
impressed to read everthing at alone place.
