At AVA Aircon, we not only believe in making the HVAC & R Industry an eco friendly field but also to reduce our client’s burden by reducing their running cost through implementing the 2 way saving method:-
- Reducing the power consumption of any HVAC & R unit through our innovative ideas & expertise. AVA AIRCON has a dedicated team to analyse and furthermore we submit a data sheet with all the necessary data indicating 5-7% power saving solutions for you to understand, keeping the system as transparent as possible.
- Converting your existing system from harmful R-22 gas to an eco-friendly R-407C based system because procurement of new system is expensive and is a tedious job to switch over to an entirely new system. We execute the same with our well equipped and experienced team thereby delivering a good experience to our clients.
The Timetable
Due to regulations imposed by the Montreal Protocol, production and use of HCFC-22 for air conditioning and refrigeration applications will be gradually phased out.
R-22 is scheduled for phaseout in all new equipment by 2020. This means that all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) must begin using R-22 alternatives. All new equipment built after that date will need to use R-22 replacement refrigerants, such as HFCs R-410A, -407C, or -134a.
After 2020, there will no longer be any new R-22 produced for refrigeration and air conditioning service, although sales and use may continue. Use of reclaimed refrigerant will still be permissible; however, R-22 supplies may be limited.
Currently, major refrigerant suppliers are still making R-22 for use and sale in the air conditioning and refrigeration marketplace. (For more detailed information on sales and support for the refrigerant, contact your local refrigerant representative, who will help you keep abreast of developments.)
Understanding HCFC based Refrigerant:
Chlorodifluoromethane [R22] Gas: R-22 actually starts as R-20, which is all the more ordinarily alluded to as chloroform. R-22 refrigerant is fabricated with R-20 as its essential part and R-22 Freon is marked as a Chlorodifluoromethane, which is a sort of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)
The Problem:
- Changing Environment: R22 gas directly affects the ozone layer
- Health Hazard: Inhalation of R22 results in breathing problems, cardiac arrhythmia furthermore organ damage etc
- Greenhouse Gas: These gases possess considerable heat and hence leads to warmer climate
- Animal Hazard: Exposure to these gases may lead to harmful effects on the central nervous system, asphyxiation etc
- Industrial Impact: At present 90% of industries use R22 based systems, which will lead significant hike in prices after its production ban.
Why switch to Eco- Friendly Refrigerant(R-407C)
- R-407C is a mixture of hydrofluorocarbons. It is a zeotropic blend of difluoromethane (R-32), pentafluoro ethane (R-125), and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R-134a). Difluoromethane serves to provide the heat capacity, pentafluoro ethane decreases flammability, tetrafluoroethene reduces pressure.
- It is safe for the environment and does not deplete the Ozone.
- It is cheaper than R-22.
- It is readily available and is not toxic to humans.
Compatibility of R-407C with R-22:
- Similarity: R-22 & R-407C are similar because they have similar operating condition
- Discharge pressure: Discharge values of R22 & R407C is almost same. Furthermore it varies by only 5%
- Safe for Humans: It does not affect the human health even if there is minor loss in the system and as a result is safe unlike ammonia.
WHY AVA AIRCON:
- Most Conventional Installers in HVAC systems rely on thumb rules and estimates however, AVA Aircon follows the guidelines set by OEM above all.
- We use precise tools for accurate data collection for each and every HVAC units.
- The design is based on actual field data and conditions and no guesswork.
- We stride towards working in a technically sound manner.
I read this article completely on the topic of the resemblance of latest and previous technologies,
it’s amazing article.
